President Obama signed the Agriculture Act of 2014 (the Farm Bill) into law during a Feb. 7 ceremony at Michigan State University. During his speech, Obama also announced the launch of a new “Made in Rural America” export and investment initiative. Of particular importance to renewable energy supporters, the Farm Bill provides $881 million for Title IX (Energy Title) in mandatory funding over its five years to many key bioenergy provisions. The Environmental and Energy Study Institute has provided highlights of the funding and description of key programs.
