The U.S. Energy Information Administration has released its Short-Term Energy Outlook, which contains forecasts for 2017. Over the time period, the EIA predicts: U.S. crude oil production will decrease while global petroleum consumption increases; a decline in power generation from fossil fuels is offset by an increase from renewable sources; biofuels production increases; net carbon emissions remain relatively flat.
